How S&S Insurance Works
Three ways in

Some insurance takes ten minutes. Some needs a person.

We do not make you guess which is which. Tell us what you need and we point you at the right door, and if your situation is complicated, we say so instead of squeezing it into a form.

The short answer

How does S&S actually work?

Three ways, through one front desk. Simple cover you can arrange quickly with minimal back and forth. Complex cover where a broker reads your contract, works the markets and handles the claim personally. And life insurance, where the useful first step is working out how much your family would actually need. Whichever door you come through, you deal with the same company and the same people.

The three doors

Pick the one that fits your situation.

Quick and simple

Small, standard cover with few moving parts, a tenant policy, an event certificate, a small business liability limit your lease demands. Minimal questions, arranged quickly, with a broker one tap away if you want one.

Tenant · Events · Small business

Considered and advised

Cover that needs judgement. Someone reads the actual contract, approaches the right markets, catches the limit that does not match, and handles the claim personally. Most of what we do sits here.

Construction · Professionals · Declined risks

And the one that is not about your business

Life insurance. Most people who need it need a straightforward amount of it and are put off by how complicated it looks. So we start with the only question that matters: how much would your family actually need? Work that out first, then decide what to do about it.

How we decide which door you need.

Not by asking you to choose. By asking a few plain questions and reading the answers honestly.

You tell us the situation

In your own words, or through the risk snapshot. No name or email needed to start.

We read it

Standard and simple, or something that needs a person looking at it properly?

The right door opens

Either a quick arrangement, or a named broker who already knows your situation.

The line we do not cross

Fast is not the same as advised.

Where cover is arranged quickly with few questions, we say so plainly on the page, along with a reminder that answering accurately matters, an inaccurate answer can cost you a claim. Anything with something unusual in it goes to a broker instead of being pushed through a simple process. That handover is deliberate, not a failure.

A broker is one tap away at every stage, at whichever branch is open right now.

Common questions

What people ask about how we work.

Do I have to come into an office?

No. Call, write, or walk in, whichever suits you. Tell us how you would like us to reply and that is how we will. Some things, like ICBC plates and transfers, are genuinely faster at a counter.

Will I get passed around between departments?

No. One broker owns your file from the first conversation to the last payment on a claim. That is the whole point of the place.

What if I do not know what I need?

That is normal, and it is our job rather than a test you have to pass. Start with the risk snapshot or just describe your situation in plain words.

Can I get insurance arranged the same day?

Sometimes, depending on what it is. Tell us your deadline when you get in touch and we will tell you straight away whether it can be met, rather than letting you find out late.

Do you charge for advice?

No. Brokers are paid a commission by the insurer when a policy is placed. Reviewing your current policy and telling you what is missing costs you nothing, whether or not you move to us.

Start wherever suits you.

Four questions with no name attached, or a straight conversation with a broker.
